remembering grandmother


While the kids do school I am editing an old picture. I took this one about 4 years ago,  and in my notes I mention my subject is almost 90 years old. It’s my grandmother. I wanted to remember her hands. They were always lovely even in old age.  What do you photograph to ensure you remember?

    • Thank you. I layered on a texture of water drops, thinking of the countless dishes she washed by hand having never owned a dishwasher. I also layered on words as she was a prolific note writer. Writing friends and family, writing things to remember or to do etc. Almost every square inch of paper in her apartment was covered in her handwriting. I felt my layers were appropriate to the subject.
